Tomas Karlsson
Started his tennis carreer in Falkenberg, Sweden more than 40 years ago. Tomas´ parents were always very concerned about sports and they soon realized how important it
is to start with coordination exersises at early ages .This one has been one of the basic ideas in Tomas teaching methods together with the the importance of understanding the relation between a
relaxed body and muscular-menthal control. This concept of how your body and brain has to be one, has been cultivated through high level competition in plenty of sports. Other sports as gymnastics,
ballet, football, basketball and voleyball were always a big complement to tennis.
As a junior,Tomas played for the Swedish National Team and he is a European Champion toghether with players like Stefan Edberg and Jonas Svensson. In the end of the 80´s he was offered a sponsorship
to continue with his professional carrer in Spain. Later on he started his tennis academy in 1991 in the south of Spain. Today it is based in Mijas, Costa del Sol (Spain). The club offers five tennis
courts two of the in clay and three hardcourts and his personal help in every need.
The tennis coaching carreer started in his hometown club, Falkenberg Tennis Klubb, in 1983 when he worked with the top juniors at that moment (the todays club's headcoach Patrik Börjesson was
one of them). Afterwards he started working with the Swedish Tennis Federation of Halland (a southern region in the south of Sweden), Sundbybergs Tenniklubb in Stockholm and the Federation of
Stockholm until he took the big step of trying to become a professional tennis player.
Tomas Karlsson has been working with tennis all along his life and has an extense experience in teaching tennis at all levels, starting from minitennis, competition and professionals. One of the
biggest diference in his coaching is the belief that the beginners need to have the best teachers. Tennis also has to be tought according to every individual´s possibilities
at each moment to gradually progress depending on their menthal and physical evolution.
Tomas has a Swedish, Spanish and American tennis degree and is a active member of RPT in Spain and a title of Professional Tennis Director.
